Since the course opened in 1929, it has been remodelled on a few occasions, lengthen the course and build a new clubhouse.The 6227m championship course represents a typically Australian style of course with its tall gum trees and bunkers throughout the layout. For example the 552m 5, 12th hole is one of the most talked about holes at Oxley  not only by the members but also by its many visitors. It is a long rolling hole which dog-legs left. Although the tee shot is important the second shot is critical.
